Are You An Author?

This popped up on my radar this morning: 29 Best WordPress Themes for Authors (2019) at WPBeginner.

If you are an author, and you are building a WordPress site then you should block some time for this article.

There is, of course, the obligatory list of themes: Divi, OceanWP, and Elegant are the only three I’ve even heard of (but I haven’t actually worked with any of those).

The important take-away is to look at each of the reviews to see what features and functions the review sees as important. Go through each review to list what is important to you.

For example:

• Astra ~ separate blog page, supports WooCommerce
• Divi ~ Drag-and-Drop page builder and has an author layout
• Author Pro ~ Display best-selling books on home page,
• OceanWP ~ Instagram feed, translation ready (“multilingual”)
• Ultra ~ Display books on image slider, call-to-action button to buy books from home page, testimonial section for readers

Bottom Line

This is an excellent tool. You’ll need to go through all 29 reviews and identify what’s important to you.
